Save the Bodine Street Community Garden
Help Save the 6th Street Garden

For the last decade, the 6th Street Community Garden has offered a welcoming green space for the Queen Village and Bella Vista neighborhoods of Philadelphia.

A dedicated group of neighbors has transformed several empty lots at 1033-1037 South 6th Street into a lush organic garden for flowering plants, shade trees and vegetables. Last year, an artist with Philadelphia's Mural Arts Program added to the garden's beauty by creating a landscape-style mural on the south wall.

However, this urban oasis is threatened — a portion of of the property has been put up for sale and could be developed.

We — the gardeners and neighbors of this fragile resource — are committed to saving our garden.

We are working with the Neighborhood Gardens Association and Councilman Frank DiCicco to preserve the garden as dedicated green space.

We need your help to make this garden a permanent part of our community. Please e-mail robcomo@aol.com or call (215) 336-2320 to find out how you can help.
